It takes a special person to be a counselor for our campers (your kids). Camp Counselors must be energetic, enthusiastic, fun—but also trained to respond quickly and efficiently in any situation. Your child’s safety is our number one priority.

Risk management Policies

• All staff members will receive First Aid and CPR certification from The American Red Cross.

• Staff are trained for risk management procedures at each camp location.

• There will be a 1:10 counselor to child ratio at minimum, at all times. The names of the campers will be kept on staff at all times and “check-ins” will be required between each activity.

• A first aid kit and a list of medications and allergies will be on camp staff at all times. Parental emergency contact information will remain on staff no matter the activity, and cell phones will be allotted to multiple staff members for emergency purposes and to remain in contact with the Camp Coordinator.

• We prioritize water safety and work to train staff in risk mitigation, Kroc lifeguards will be present during all swim times at The Kroc Center.

• When taking a field trip, the vehicle will be operated by either a camp counselor with The Salvation Army Decisive Driving Certification, or a licensed local transportation company.

Can payments or deposits be made on camp enrollment fees?
No, full payment is required to reserve camp space.

If my child gets sick during the camp week may I request a refund?
No. While we are sad that your camper is unable to join camp due to sickness, our strict refund policy limits us from offering refunds due to illness. Please refer to our refund policies on page 7 of the camp guide.

Why is only Discovery Camp offered on Aug 23–27?
The majority of our camp counselors are college students, so we plan our camp schedule knowing that we will lose up to half our counselor team when college starts. Therefore, we only offer Discovery Camp this week as it is most popular offering with the highest capacity.

Do you offer early drop-off for camp before 8:30am sign in?
Campers cannot be dropped off prior to camp sign in. We offer Extended Care from 8–8:30am & 3:30–7pm for 6–10 year olds for a daily/weekly fee. Extended Care is $32 for Gold members and $40 for Silver/Public.

What will happen if I’m running late to pick up my Discovery Camper?
If you will be late, please call the Kroc Front Desk, 208.763.0611. Repeat offenders will be charged the applicable Extended Care rate.

My child's summer birthday prevents them from being eligible for camp, how do I register them?
Call the Camp Coordinator at 208.763.0641 to arrange registration.

Do you make age restriction exceptions?
Very rarely and usually only under extremely specific extenuating circumstances. Please call the Camp Coordinator to discuss 208.763.0641

What do I do if my camper has an allergy or medication that needs to be distributed during the camp day?
If your camper has an allergy or daily medication, please make sure it is specified on their Class Enrollment Form. When you drop your camper off on Monday, you can fill out a Medical Release Form and leave their medication. All medication will be kept with their counselor to give to your camper to administer at the specified time. You will receive it back at the end of the camp day.
