Clothe a Child: Partnering with Parents

Each year 100 Middle School and Elementary School children participate in the Clothe a Child Program, which is designed to provide up to $150 worth of brand new clothing to students in Kootenai County.

Students must meet certain criteria to participate to ensure all who are involved will truly benefit from the program. All fundraising is handled through The Salvation Army. All volunteers that help with the program have received child safety training.

Families Feeding Families

Every February, around Valentine’s Day, The Salvation Army Coeur d’Alene Kroc Center aims to fill the food gap in our community by providing healthy food to over a dozen Food banks and pantries in Idaho’s five Northern counties. The Kroc Center Community Outreach Team & Kroc Church encourage community members to fill a bag. We, in turn, deliver the hundreds of food items to area food banks and churches to provide families in need during the winter season when giving is low and shelves are empty.

Ways We Help: Salvation Army National Outreach

Many Americans are familiar with The Salvation Army's thrift stores which fund our well-known drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. And our iconic red kettles have become a symbol of the Christmas season and the spirit of giving.

But in hundreds of communities across the Western United States, The Salvation Army also operates programs and services which are designed to meet human need in Christ's name, alleviate human suffering, and promote wholeness by addressing the spiritual, social, emotional, psychological and physical well-being of those served.

The Salvation Army's social service programs vary slightly with local and regional needs. For instance, there are programs and services for homeless people, victims of domestic violence, at-risk kids, and so much more.
