Adult Fine Art Workshop: Writing Memorable Memoirs

$75

Join local artist and writer Wes Hanson in this one-day Memoir Workshop: The class begins by reading brief memoirs and defining memoir characteristics. Brainstorming on possible stories is followed by sharing some of them aloud. After selecting a recalled event, each student gathers details about it—such as remembered actions, people, sensations, emotions, and lessons learned. The first written draft brings these memories together in a story. Revision skills are taught and practiced. Students provide feedback and specific suggestions on each rough draft. Each writer revises his or her draft so the memoir moment is more vividly and dramatically presented. The class ends with voluntary readings of final memoirs. 10a-4p with a one-hour lunch break. You can bring your own laptop if you would like.

You will be creating your own charming pottery GNOMIE while learning all about the art of hand building with clay. 2 classes: 4/19 & 4/26 Your Gnome will be fired twice: after wk 1 (building) and after wk 2 (glazing). Beginning Line Dance
