Clothe a Child – Still Serving Amid COVID Restrictions

Dec 1, 2020

The Coeur d’Alene Kroc Center had the pleasure of taking local children in need shopping for much needed winter clothing as part of our revised Clothe a Child program this year!

Due to the challenges COVID-19 presents, The Kroc Center is conducting the 11th annual Operation Clothe a Child program a little bit differently this year. Our staff recognize that this program would need to continue in 2020, but it required a creative adjustment to provide a safe and effective outing. Because of this, we partnered with St Vincent de Paul North Idaho and their Blessings program to serve children in critical need of basic clothing supplies.

So far this year over a couple separate events, our two organizations have taken about 50 kiddos and their parents shopping at Target Coeur d’Alene, securing warm outfits and fulfilling basic clothing needs. Target was instrumental in making this outing as safe as possible, and allowed our team to shop before Target opened its doors to the public.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center and St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho express their sincere gratitude to our committed donors and Coeur d’Alene Target for supporting Coeur d’Alene’s youngest community members; preparing them to feel great amongst their peers in school, warm in the winter with new boots and coats, and refreshed for spring!
