When you make a gift—money, time, or energy—to The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, you become a part of the largest project ever undertaken by The Salvation Army. Your gift becomes grounded in the reputation, trust and credibility of The Salvation Army—which is well known for its continuing efforts of providing relief to those in need.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center annually impacts one in three people in Kootenai County. Thanks to the generous gifts of local donors at Salvation Army Red Kettles, online, and at The Kroc Center front desk, local individuals and families receive clothing, swim lessons, life skill classes, food, rent & utility assistance, and much more. Watch the video below to learn more about the impact your donation makes year-round. Then, share your own reason for giving.
The enduring commitment of Kroc Members, program and capital campaign donors, Advisory Board members, corporate sponsors, and Kroc staff, helps to reach 1 out of every 3 individuals in Kootenai County.
We believe there are basic human needs that no one in our community should go without. We annually provide over 1,600 families with food, clothing, shelter assistance, and other direct support.
At just the right price, we introduce generations new and old to the visual and performing arts. Everything from pre-school ballet to youth theater to adult fine art painting.
We annually invest over $2 million into offering area youth a safe haven with positive role models and hundreds of character-building arts and recreation opportunities to choose from.
With 200 cardio and weight machines, weekly church services and free community gathering spaces, we put the tools within reach to live a balanced and healthy life.
We are committed to helping youth succeed in school. Over 1,300 kids have access to after-school programs, summer camps and a variety of activities involving science and technology.

Before moving to Coeur d'Alene, Holly never dreamed that her son Justin would be able to play basketball, rock climb, or experience being a real kid by moving independently in his wheel chair. Justin has already accomplished all three of these activities, thanks to Fitness Coach Kevin Nelson and specialized Kroc Center fitness equipment. Justin is stronger, more confident in himself and an inspiration to others.
