The Salvation Army Kroc Center Coeur d'Alene Calendar of Events

February

3 Breakdancing
Starts Today, Feb 3–Mar 16*, Ages 5–14, $36

Breakdancing incorporates hip hop music and is an athletic and acrobatic style of dance. It combines spinning on the knees, hands and back; bodypopping; and creating ‘windmills' with the legs. In this class you will learn the four primary elements of Breakdancing: toprock, downrock, power moves and freezes. Melodies for Mariah, A Benefit Concert
7PM, Performing Arts Theater, $20

Melodies for Mariah is a benefit concert hosted by The Anna Schindler Foundation. The concert will feature Pianist & Composer Brian Crain and Specail Guest Seth Lowman, Mariah's brother and Childhood Cancer Survivor. 4 Free Swim Assessments for Children
11AM–Noon, Cove Pool, Free

We will be offering a free swim assessment for children of all ages. This type of assessment will help parents determine their child's swimming ability level. Following the swim assessment, Kroc Center instructors will advise parents on whether their child meets the national swimming skills criteria, and what swimming level would be right for their child. 6 Common Cents II: Building Savings and Creating Wealth
6PM, Ages 15+, $5

Every financial journey has some unexpected bumps along the way. Learn how to prepare for these bumps and be ready with savings in an emergency cash reserve account. In addition, learn how savings is needed for specific goals and how, with a saving state of mind, most people can find ways to reach their goals. Workbook included. 9 American Red Cross CPR/AED
for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers

4:30–9:30PM, Ages 15+, $40

Newly updated material; this course is designed to train professional level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over. This class includes use of BVM and AED. Upon completion of all requirements you will receive your American Red Cross certification. View the Winter Program Guide to learn more.

17 Money Camp
9AM–NOON, Ages 11–14, Free

Money Camp gives students the tools they need to begin to develop healthy financial habits. Want to know how to avoid getting scammed by high credit card rates? Go to camp. 18 Raise Your Voice Community Worship Night
7pm, Kroc Worship Theater, FREE

23 Let's Cook and Learn Etiquette
4–5:30PM, Ages 5–10, $15

Chef Anna Marie will teach the basics of safe and nutritious cooking. Students will follow a recipe to prepare a delicious light meal, learn to set a table and then enjoy eating the food they have prepared. Dining etiquette and table manners will be covered. Experiencing Connection is an opportunity to have some fun with your spouse while you gain simple, practical tools to help you stay connected in your relationships. You will laugh, participate in hands on challenges, explore the role of Christ in your marriage and take home skills and tools you can pull out in the future to maintain a connection with your spouse. 27 Acoustic Guitar Lessons
Starts today, Feb 27–Mar 19, Ages 11+, $32

29 Learn to Knit
Starts today, Feb 29–Mar 21, 4 Classes, Ages 15+, $40

Money Live: Real-life simulation for high school students
10AM–NOON, Ages 15–18, Free

Money Live is a real-life, hands-on simulation experience. It will put you in the shoes of your parents as you make choices about housing, food, childcare, insurance, auto buying and much more. When you register we will send you some pre-work. Come prepared with your pre-work complete and be ready to play the role of someone else. Join Kroc Kids each month for an ice cream social. Parents will have an opportunity to hang out together while their kids get to enjoy a fun treat after Sunday School.
