Discovering, Learning, and Connecting Through Summer Camp

Aug 31, 2020

Camp Kroc is developed to take campers on new voyages of discovery and fun! Each week is packed with activities that are designed with Christian values in mind. We have three levels of camp available: Pee Wee Camp for 4–5 year olds, Discovery Camp for 6–10 year olds, and Adventure Camp for 11–14 year olds.

Pee Wee Camp strives to help develop our young campers through play, arts n crafts, stories, games, and learning activities. The last week of Pee Wee Camp was themed “Superheroes in Training”, where campers made their own superhero costumes and tested their superhero abilities through fun obstacle courses and active games!

Discovery Camp is all about discovering fun activities and learning something new in the process! In addition to regular camp activities each week, our Camp Team will invite members of our community to come speak with the kids to educate them on a topic. This week we had our local Coeur d’Alene Fire Department volunteer their time to bring their big red fire engine to The Kroc for the kids to get an up close look at what a fire truck can do! These firemen talked about the equipment they use on a daily basis while also emphasizing the importance of fire safety.

Getting outdoors and enjoying what North Idaho has to offer is a big part of what Adventure Camp does every summer! Our Camp Team loves to get our older camp kids out in nature through exciting hikes, overnight camping, water activities, team building games, and more. One of their adventures was a 5-mile round trip mountain hike to Stevens Lake tucked away in the Coeur d'Alene Mountains. Along the way they explored streams and waterfalls and took in the fresh mountain air.
