To preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination...that is the mission of The Salvation Army. Since 1865, when William Booth founded our movement in England, The Salvation Army has been passionately pursuing the spiritual and physical needs of people from all walks of life all over the world. Recently, a new facet of The Salvation Army has been brought about by a generous donation from Joan Kroc. Coeur d'Alene is among the recipients of a Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center. While the mission has not changed, the way we got about our mission has evolved. The center focuses on creating opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to grow their natural gifts and talents. The Salvation Army Kroc Centers have been blessed with an opportunity to continually develop what it means to preach the gospel and meet human need. At the core of this process is Kroc Church. We believe that God has blessed our community as with new opportunities to be encouraged into relationship with Jesus Christ and one another, to be equipped to find God's truth wherever it lies and to be engaged in mission for our community's benefit and God's glory. |
Encourage into Relationship Jim Knaggs, Commissioner for the Western Territory of The Salvation Army, says that our primary goal is "to win the world for Jesus." At Kroc Church we are committed to focusing our gatherings and programming around that goal. |
