Who is the owner and who provides facility management?
The Salvation Army will cover ongoing maintenance and operation of The Kroc Center. Approximately 25% of annual operating costs are covered by the permanent endowment, and the rest are covered by membership fees, rentals, and user group fees.
Why does the facility come with a matching endowment?
It was Joan Kroc's intention that a Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center would be sustainable and her research showed that an endowment would be necessary for a community center to operate in the black.

Can families who can't afford the membership fees use The Kroc Center's facilities?
Absolutely. The Kroc Center will be available to everyone in the community. Those who cannot afford the full fee can apply for a scholarship. It was the intent of Joan Kroc and The Salvation Army to provide equal access to the Kroc Center to all members of the community.
